Mariame Kaba (aka @prisonculture) is an organizer, educator and curator who’s active in numerous social movements for prison abolition, racial justice, gender justice, and transformative justice. In "Missing Daddy," a picture book for young readers ages 4 to 8, she tells the story of a little girl who misses her father because he's away in prison, sharing how his absence affects different parts of her life. With gorgeous illustrations, this book depicts a little girl's love for her father from whom she is separated because of incarceration.
